Resident & Family Visitation

Information and guidelines during COVID-19.

Guidelines from the New York State Department of Health

UPDATED Thursday, February 26, 2021.

Skilled Nursing & Short-Term Rehab Community Guidelines

  • Visitors must provide documentation that you have tested negative for COVID-19 within the last 3 days prior to your visit. If you cannot provide documentation of a negative test result, Loretto can test you on site, provided you schedule this test at the time that you schedule your visit appointment. Visitors must have an appointment to test; we cannot support walk-ins at this time.
  • For those that have been vaccinated, while we verify the new guidelines and specific vaccination timeframes, we are continuing to require a negative test result of all visitors.
  • Visitors are limited to 2 per resident at any given time, and we can allow one visitor under 16 years of age if accompanied by an adult.
  • Visitors must adhere to all infection control protocols, including sanitizing your hands before and after, following strict social distancing protocols, and wearing a mask at ALL times. If visitors do not have a mask, one can be provided. Visitors who refuse to wear masks will not be allowed to visit.
  • Visitors must bring a valid ID to the visit and must be screened at one of our Accushield Kiosks in the lobby and have your temperature taken. Once you clear the screening, the kiosk will print a visitor badge for you to wear. You will not be permitted to enter if you suspect you have symptoms, you are running a temperature or do not have a valid badge.
  • Food and drink are prohibited from visits; but packages can be provided to residents.
  • Testing Location Resources

Assisted Living Community Guidelines

  • We can now allow in-person visits 14 days after a positive COVID-19 case.
  • Testing is NOT required in order to visit these facilities.
  • Visitors under 18 are allowed if accompanied by an adult.
  • Ask your facility about # of visitors allowed per visit.

The safety and security of our residents and staff remains our number one priority. It is imperative that as we ease restrictions on visitation, you follow our guidelines. Please note that only 10% of residents can have a scheduled visit at any given time. Each family can schedule one visit per week, to ensure all families have an equal opportunity to visit their loved ones.

Plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to get through screening. Appointments will not be extended due to delays.

If a positive case is discovered at any facility, visitation will be paused based on the New York State Department of Health guidelines. PLEASE be vigilant with wearing a mask, following proper hand washing and maintaining social distancing when visiting and when at home to help us ensure this doesn't happen.
