Assisted Living Community Guidelines

Below are the new guidelines that allow for visitation in all Loretto Assisted Living Facilities. Visits can be scheduled in a dedicated visitation area or in resident rooms based on what each facility can support safely.

  • All visits will be by appointment only. There are restrictions on the number of visitors that can be in a facility at one time.
  • We are required to limit movement within the facility, with visitors going directly to the intended resident’s room or a dedicated visitor lounge. All visitors will be escorted to and from the location of the visit upon completion of the screening process.
  • Visitation appointments have been increased to one hour.
  • Staff will be periodically monitoring each visit to ensure that all visitors are following visitation protocols such as; social-distancing and wearing face masks at all times. Anyone not following our protocols will be asked to leave.
  • Visitation schedules vary by facility, please consult our web page regularly for days and times of available visitation.
  • Each resident is allowed 2 visitors at a time. Visitors under the age of 16 welcome when accompanied by an adult over 18 years of age.
  • Outdoor spaces will be re-established where feasible as the weather improves.
  • Please do not bring any food or drinks to be consumed during the visit.

The new guidelines also allow for compassionate care visits, which allow for exceptions to the current visitation guidelines in accordance with Department of Health’s current guidance. The need for compassionate care visits will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Compassionate Care visits include:

  • Newly admitted residents with difficulty adjusting to their new environment.
  • Residents recently grieving the loss of a friend or a loved one.
  • Residents who are experiencing signs and symptoms of emotional distress.
  • Residents who receive religious or spiritual support from clergy or another layperson.
