Syracuse, NY (December 22, 2025) – Three Loretto skilled nursing communities have been awarded five-star ratings for quality from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as a part of its 2025 CMS Star Quality Rating System after a recent evaluation.
Loretto Health & Rehabilitation and The Nottingham Residential Health Care Facility located in Syracuse, and The Commons on St. Anthony in Auburn, New York, all received five stars for quality, the highest possible rating using data that evaluates outcomes, patient experience and process. Quality ratings are based on performance evaluations of 15 different clinical and physical measures for short-stay and long-stay residents. This marks the first time that all three of Loretto’s skilled nursing facilities have earned a five-star quality rating simultaneously. There are only two other small facilities in a 25-mile radius that also hold this designation.

With this improvement, Nottingham Residential Health Care Facility remains a five-star facility overall; Loretto Health and Rehabilitation advances to two stars overall, with the opportunity to soon improve to three stars after its upcoming survey, and The Commons on St. Anthony is now a four-star facility overall.
