Auburn, NY (September 18, 2018) – The Commons on St. Anthony has opened a new wing on the terrace level of the facility’s rehabilitation floor. The opening of this 10-bed unit brings the facility to a its full capacity of 60 beds for short-term rehabilitation to meet the increasing demand in the community.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Monday September 17, which is also when the first short-term rehab resident moved to that floor.

“This is a great milestone, not only in recognition of the services that we provide, but it is also an acknowledgement of the growth of our staff at this facility,” said Dan Morphet, Administrator for the building.

The new wing offers short-term rehab and skilled complex medical care for:

  • Post-surgical recovery

  • Diabetes management
  • Physical, occupational and speech therapy

  • Respiratory therapy with an on-site respiratory therapist

The terrace-level unit also offers daily therapeutic and recreational programs designed for mental stimulation, as well as safe outdoor walking paths and a patio.
