Earn While You Learn

For those interested in entering the healthcare field without any prior experience, we offer specialized programs to help you get started. All you need is a willingness to learn and a genuine desire to care for people! Here are a few of the exciting programs we offer:

• Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) Training Program:
  • This program is a 12-day course held at our PACE CNY campus. It combines classroom learning with hands-on clinical training, providing a well-rounded education. The program runs 12 times per year, but that’s not all! You can start earning even before you begin the course through our pre-trainee program. As a pre-trainee, you will work hands-on in a support role at the Loretto community/program where you were hired to work after the course. Upon completion of the course, you’ll be an official CHHA!

• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Training Program:
  • This program is a 5-week course that offers both classroom instruction and hands-on clinical training. To accommodate your needs, we provide training at two locations: Loretto Health & Rehabilitation in Syracuse and The Commons on St. Anthony in Auburn. The program runs 8 times per year, and guess what? You can start earning even before you enter the course through our support services program. As a support services worker, you’ll be fully immersed within a Loretto community, working and getting paid in a support role. Once you complete the course, you’ll be ready to take the state exam. Passing the exam will grant you certification to work as a Nursing Assistant in New York State!

 

Advance Your Career

Once you become an official Loretto employee, your growth doesn’t stop there. You’ll have the opportunity to further your healthcare career through our comprehensive training programs, including the following:

• LPN Apprenticeship Program:
  • Advance your career while continuing to work part-time. Loretto’s LPN Apprenticeship Program is a training initiative designed to prepare individuals for a rewarding career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This program is for students pursuing a nursing degree. This program offers a unique blend of classroom instruction and hands-on clinical experience, allowing apprentices to develop essential skills and knowledge within a supportive learning environment. It also includes assistance in preparation for their NCLEX exam. With a structured curriculum and mentorship from experienced professionals, participants gain the skills necessary to provide high-quality patient care and pursue a successful healthcare career.

• EDGE (Engage, Develop, Grow, Excel) Program: EDGE is Loretto’s very own Training and Development program created to help Loretto employees engage, develop, grow, and excel to their fullest potential. Within the EDGE Program, there are several opportunities available, including the following:
  • Leadership Academy: Leadership Academy is a 6-month annual training program that focuses on critical skills and best practices to empower our managers to be exceptional people leaders. This interactive program incorporates a combination of classroom learning, practical application of tools, and valuable coaching sessions.

• • Frontline Career Advancement Program (FCAP): This program is specifically designed to introduce a series of nationally recognized certification programs. It enables our frontline workers to develop specialized skills and create career pathways to progress to different levels within their current roles. Our current program offerings include:
    • Dementia Training (EssentiALZ)
    • Food Service Training (ServSafe)
    • Advanced CNA Training
